The REL-2 relay box is connected to the remote display output on the RS-60 front panel. If
you want to use the DL-SE display together with the REL-2 relay box, all you have to do is
connect the display to the REL-2 output on the back panel. To use the RS-60 as a sound
limiter you have to use the REL-2 relay box. One possible configuration would be the one in
the following figure. In this configuration the RS-60 controls a hi-fi system, limiting the sound
pressure level by interrupting the mains input to the system. An illuminated indicator (light
bulb) has also been included as a pre-alarm indicator. For this configuration the pre-alarm
system must be active when the pre-alarm limit is exceeded. Thus the illuminated indicator is
connected to terminals 2 and 3 of the pre-alarm relay. On the other hand, in order to limit the
hi-fi system, when the alarm limit is exceeded, the relay must disconnect the hi-fi system
from the mains. Thus the hi-fi system must be connected to terminals 1 and 2 of the alarm
relay.
Under normal conditions the two relays will never be commuted at the same time, since the
alarm relay will always have priority. The two relays will commute only when the sensor is
disconnected or manipulated or when the RS-60 is disconnected from the mains. In the
previous example, the illuminated indicator will remain on and the hi-fi system off.
To carry out the connection press the contact lever over the hole where you wish to insert the
wire, and inser the wire into the space.(approx. 8mm), and then release the lever (see
figure).
