4.2.2
Adjust blade guide
Lower the saw frame approx. 5mm down to the upper edge of the workpiece.
Now loosen the black flynut of the left sawband guide (1 – Fig.A).
Adjust the saw band guide as close as possible to the workpiece taking care
that it will not touch it in any point of the cutting process.
4.2.3
Adjust cutting angle
By loosening the fastening lever (11 – Fig. A) you can swing the entire saw frame up to
a degree of 60°.
The cutting angle can be easily read off the angle scale below the vice.
After having set the desired cutting angle do not forget to fasten the lever (11 – Fig. A)
again.
4.3
Manuel feed
Open valve (Fig. C – 15) entirely, turn the machine on, turn on coolant pump (optional), grap
feed handle with left hand, unlock saw frame, trigger pusbutton on the feed handle (2- Fig.
A), perform the cut.
Wait until the sawband has reached full speed – then performing the cut!
Feed with caution! To strong downstroke during the cut leads to inprecise cuts,
wears the saw band and may lead to saw band break!
4.4
Automatic feed
By adjusting the valve (Fig. C - 15) end the shut off switch (Fig. C – 16) you can preset cut-
ting speed and cutting depth. This feature is very helpful when performing several identical
cuts in a row. The selection of the proper downfeed speed requires however profound materi-
al and machine knowledge of the operator. Best choice is to approximate the downfeed speed
from slower to faster under the premise to still achieve precise cuts.
The selection of the correct downfeed speed depends on several factors like workpiece ma-
terial, workpiece cross section, type of used saw blade and saw blade speed.
HOLZMANN Maschinen Austria
Bedienungsanleitung Metallbandsäge BS 128HDR
Do not adjust the blade guide while saw band is running!
Danger of most severe cutting injuries!
Therefore: Always shut the machine off before adjusting the saw blade
guide.
Excessive gaps between sawband guide and workpiece will lead to
inprecise cuts and result in fast blade wear.
