Set-up and first operation
2.6
Initial filling and rinsing of the complete interchangeable unit
Initial filling of the burette unit is carried out by a rinsing program. You initiate the rinsing program using
the
<Rinse> key on the TZ 2835 keyboard, or by pressing the unlocking key of the TA interchangeable unit
during power-up .
When starting this operation using the <Rinse> key, the display will first show the selected umber of rins-
ing cycles. 1 to 3 cycles can be input. You start the rinsing cycle by pressing the <START> key. The num-
ber of umber of rinsing cycles will be displayed during the rinsing process.
Fig. 6
Display with two rinsing cycles selected
After the start of the rinsing process, one upward and one downward move of the piston will be performed
per rinsing stroke. The number of strokes can be selected from 1 to 3.
Initial filling and rinsing cannot be initiated using the software.
During the execution of the initial-filling or rinsing program you have to place a waste container under the
titration tip.
After the start of the rinsing program, the display will additionally show a colon, and the piston will move to
its bottom position.
Subsequently, the contents of the cylinder (air or old reagent) will be ejected. As soon as the piston top
position is reached, fresh reagent will be drawn in. When the lowermost piston position is reached, the
complete contents of the cylinder will be ejected once again. Another filling cycle will take place, and after
float balancing the message <<0.000 ml>> will appear in the case of interchangeable units from 1 to 10
ml, or <<0.00 ml>> with interchangeable units of 20 and 50 ml, respectively.
Please note: The initial-filling / rinsing program is not suitable for changing titration media, solutions, and
liquids which widely differ in composition and/or concentration. Such cases require a careful cleaning of
the parts coming in contact with the titration agents, such as intake tube, valve, glass cylinder, and titration
tip (for their disassembly procedure, please refer to chapter 2.5, "Replacing a glass cylinder").

After the execution of the program, the TITRONIC
110 plus Piston Burette is ready for the next titration or
dosing processes.
