SYMPTOM
Compressor runs
continuously
Compressor starts and stops
excessively when not in use
Compressor will not start

TROUBLESHOOTING

POSSIBLE CAUSE
Petcock is open
Prolonged or excessive use
of air
Compressor is not large
enough for job
Restricted check valve
Leak in air hose or connector
Tank leaks
Blown seals
Petcock is partially open
Fittings leak
Fuse or circuit breaker tripped Check for cause & replace
Loose electrical connections
Extension cord not correct
Low voltage
Overheated motor
Check valve is stuck open
Pressure bleeder valve on
pressure switch has not
unloaded head pressure
Paint spray on internal motor
parts

REMEDY
Close petcock
Decrease air demand
Check the air requirement of
air tool.
Remove and clean, or
replace
Check and replace if
necessary
Replace tank immediately!
Do not attempt to repair!
Replace
Close petcock
Check fittings with soapy
water. Tighten or re-seal
fittings. Do not over-tighten
or reset
Check wiring connections
Max. 50 ft. (15 m) min. 14 ga.
Consult electrician
Use reset button or wait for
auto reset
Remove and clean or
replace
Move switch to Off and then
restart
Consult service centre
