TROUBLESHOOTING
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Low voltage
Excessive wire length
Restricted air passages
Back pressure in pump head
Air leak in safety relief valve
Restricted air filter
Defective check valve
Defective pressure switch or
improper adjustment
Improper oil viscosity
Too much oil in crankcase
Air pressure regulated too
high
Restricted air filter
Poor ventilation
Dirty cooling surface

REMEDY
Consult electrician
Try to run compressor
without extension cord
Contact service centre
Replace check valve
Replace pressure switch
bleeder valve
Check valve manually: pull
ring outward
Clean or replace air filter
Replace check valve
Check for proper adjustment
and if problem persists,
replace pressure switch
Replace with SAE-20 non-
detergent compressor oil
Drain crankcase and fill to
correct level
Reduce regulator setting
Clean and replace air filter
Relocate compressor
Clean pump cooling vanes
