Disconnecting the charger

Caution – risk of damage
Do not cause a short circuit when disconnecting the charger.
➤ Switch off the charger once charging is complete by setting the
switch (fig. 7 3, page 5) to "0".
➤ Disconnect the black negative terminal of the charger.
➤ Disconnect the red positive terminal of the charger.
➤ Unplug the 230 V power cable.

Warning – danger of acid burns
Avoid coming into contact with the battery fluid.
If the battery is a non-maintenance-free battery, you must also
carry out the following two steps:
➤ Check the fluid levels of the battery cells.
If the fluid is below the minimum level in one or more cells, fill
distilled water in up to the filling mark.
Never use normal tap water.
➤ Close the opened sealing caps on the battery cells.
Connect the battery
➤ Grease the battery terminals with a little terminal grease to pro-
tect them from corrosion.
➤ Reconnect the battery to the vehicle.
