Control box
The pump control box is an accessory, to be ordered separately.
When connecting a box, observe the following conditions:
• P2 < 4 kW : direct starting
• P2 > 4 kW : wye-delta starting
Motor protection to be installed according to the motor current
rating marked on the data plate.
Probe must be connected for product warranty to be valid (load
limit: 5V, 2mA). When the probe contact is open-circuit, the pump is
stopped. Reset is manual.
The moisture probe DI, (see figure 4) can only be connected to a
box designed for it (return with respect to earth).
The wires of the connecting cable must be connected as follows:
7-wire cable
(see figure 4a) - direct-starting type.
For SV0/SCA P2 ≤ 4 kW
10-wire cable
(see figure 4b) - wye-delta starting type (direct starting also
possible).
For SV0/SCA P2 ≥ 3,9 kW ≤ 8,4 kW
10-wire cable
(see figure 4c) - wye-delta starting type (direct starting also
possible).
For SV0/SCA/SCB P2 ≥ 10 kW
An incorrect electrical connection would
ATTENTION !
damage the motor.
5.2 Check of direction of rotation
The direction of rotation of the pump should be checked before
immersion. The correct direction is indicated by an arrow on the top
of the casing.
This check will be very brief.
- Suspend the pump.
- Start the motor manually (for just a few seconds); the pump should
start turning in the direction opposite the direction of rotation of
the motor (arrow on top of casing: START-REACTION)
ATTENTION !
The starting jolt can be very strong.
- If the pump turns the wrong way, interchange two power-supply
phase wires, either at the circuit-breaker or on the control box.
If the pump is immersed, the highest flow indicates the correct
direction of rotation. When several pumps are connected to the
same installation, check each pump individually.
5.3 Special conditions of use
Environment exposed to explosion risk:
In an environment where there is an explosion risk, the pump may
be operated only if it is certain that the casing is completely
covered by the fluid. The level monitoring function must be used for
dry-running protection.
In addition to the circuit-breaker, the motor must be monitored
thermally by temperature sensors in the stator winding and on the
bearings. These sensors can only be connected to a box designed
for them.
5.4 Installation
The pumping station must be built in accordance
ATTENTION !
with good practice.
The place of installation must be protected from frost.
A lifting device should be used to convey the pump to the place of
installation.
When making the connections to the suction and discharge flanges,
check the maximum depth of the tapped holes and the maximum

tightening torque against the table below.
Use the O-rings supplied.
Make sure that the hose cannot be torn
ATTENTION !
accidentally.
ATTENTION !
Make sure that the pump is stable and will not fall.
Maintain the average ground clearance of 100 mm corresponding
to the height of the base (see fig. 1a).
The water level must not fall below the top surface of the pump
casing.
The level monitoring device will be installed at this height.
The mechanical seal must not be used dry.
ATTENTION !
6. STARTING UP
6.1 Filling
- Fill the sump.
- Check that the level regulators or float switch (depending on the
type of installation) operate freely.
6.2 Starting
- Make sure that the sump is full of water (the pump must never run
dry).
- Open the discharge valve.
- Start the pump.
Operation is now automatic, under the control of the level
regulators or the float switch or the IPA.
7. SERVICING
No special servicing in operation. But we do recommend having the
pump cleaned twice a year.
