2.5 Safety instructions for maintenance and troubleshooting on the
filter unit
The time frames for periodic test/inspections stipulated or specified in the operating
instructions must be observed.
To carry out maintenance and repair work, appropriate workshop equipment is
required.
Preparation, maintenance and repair work, and troubleshooting must only be carried
out when the system is switched off and the components are cool.
Before disassembling, mark the parts that belong together.
When performing servicing and maintenance work, always tighten loosened screw
connection! If required, tighten the screws provided with a torque wrench.
In particular, clean dirt and cleaning products off connections and threaded couplings
before beginning maintenance / repair / care work.
2.6 Notes regarding special types of hazard
Electrical Systems
Only an electrician or trained personnel under the control and supervision of an
electrician may work on the electrical equipment of the filter unit, in accordance with
electrical engineering rules!
Before opening the switchgear cabinet, you must isolate the filter unit from the power
supply by pulling out the plug.
If there are faults on the power supply to the filter unit, pull out the plug to isolate the
filter unit from the mains immediately!
Use only original fuses with the prescribed amperage!
Electrical components, on which inspection, maintenance and repair work must be
carried out, must be disconnected from the power supply. Secure equipment with
which the filter unit was released for operation, against being switched on again
unintentionally or automatically (lock fuses away, lock isolation switches etc.). Firstly
check that no voltage is present in activated, electrical components, then isolate
adjacent components under voltage. During repairs, ensure that designed features
are not changed in such a manner that safety is reduced (e.g. do not reduce leakage
paths, air gaps and distances by isolation)!
Should it be necessary to work on live components (only in exceptional situations!),
bring in an extra person who can isolate the filter unit mains plug from the power
supply in an emergency. Use only insulated tools. The proper grounding of the
electrical system must be ensured by protective conductor systems.
Check cables regularly for damage and replace if necessary.
