2.2.1 General safety instructions
NOTICE
Function loss due to mechanical damage. If the ProSeal sealing ring
shows any signs of damage, proper operation of the system cannot
be ensured (vacuum cannot be created or maintained). If damage is
detected, the ProSeal sealing ring must be replaced (see Section 3).
NOTICE
Function loss as a result of improper use. The patient must be instructed
in the proper use of the ProSeal ring.
NOTICE
Function loss if talcum is used. Talcum can clog the valve or vacuum
pump thus leading to leaks. Both, the liner and the ProSeal ring, fea-
ture a non-sticky coating. The use of talcum therefore is not necessary.
2.2.2 Patient instructions
Please pass this information on to your patients.
NOTICE
Damage from improper seating of the socket. If the residual limb is
not in contact with the end of the socket after donning, this could lead
to damage to the ProSeal ring when walking.
In this case, immediately contact an orthopaedic technician.
NOTICE
