SWITCHING OFF
Use in the 'power-off' state is not normal, little or no protection is provided and a build up of carbon dioxide and depletion
of oxygen within the headtop may occur, vacate the contaminated area immediately.
1. Take care to prevent the breathing tube from becoming looped around protruding objects.
2. If during use the airflow into the headtop stops, is reduced and the alarm sounds or if odour is detected, vacate the contaminated
area immediately and investigate the cause (please see fault finding).
3. The 'in-use' life of the product will vary with frequency and conditions of use.
4. In everyday use, it is recommended that the product is discarded after approximately 5 years service, provided the product is
stored as stated below. Some extreme conditions may result in deterioration over a shorter period.
Doffing
Do not remove the headtop or turn off the air filter unit until you have vacated the contaminated area.
1. Lift the headtop off the head.
2. Turn off the air filter unit.
3. Unbuckle the waistbelt.
