6.4. Installation
The internal diameter of the delivery pipe must never
be smaller than the diameter of the pump connection
port: G 11/4 (DN 32).
ATTENTION: the length of the delivery pipe thread
is 18 mm. Never connect a pipe with a thread length
greater than 18mm to the delivery port.
The pump must be installed in the vertical position with
the delivery connection facing upwards.
The pump can be installed immersed (min 100 mm)
or submersed (max 20 m) either standing on a bottom
surface or suspended.
6.4.1. Pump in the standing position
See installation examples, par. 14 fig. 1 and 2.
The pump can be rested on the flat bottom surface of
a tank.
When sand or slime deposits are expected to form,
mount the pump on a surface raised from the bottom
level so that abrasive matter is not lifted.
6.4.2. Pump in the suspended position
See installation examples, par. 14 fig. 3
The pump can be held in a suspended position by the
metal delivery pipe. Tighten the threaded pipe joints
firmly to avoid loosening during operation.
Position the pump at a distance of at least 0.5 m from
the bottom of a well so that sand is not lifted.
A safety rope or chain of non-perishable material
should always be used to secure a suspended pump.
When a plastic or flexible delivery pipe is used, the
safety rope or chain should be utilized for lowering,
securing and raising the pump.
Never use the electric power cable to
suspend the pump.
Attach the power supply cable to the delivery pipe and
to the safety rope with cable clamps at intervals of
about 3 m. The power cable should not be taut: allow
for a certain degree of slackness between the clamps
to avoid the risk of strain caused by expansion of the
pipe during operation.
6.4.3. Delivery pipe
Fit a gate valve in the delivery pipe to adjust delivery
and head.
With a geodetic head at outlet over 15 m fit a check
valve just before the outlet between the pump and
before the gate valve in order to protect the pump from
water hammering (par. 14 picture 3).
ATTENTION It is necessary to check that the restart
pressure (parameter UP02) is compatible with the
actual pressure of the pump and of the water column
of the system.
6.5. Electrical connection
OFF
Electrical connection must be carried out only
by a qualified electrician in accordance with
local regulations.
Follow all safety standards.
He unit must be always earthed, also with a non-
metallic delivery pipework.
ATTENTION: in the case of water containing
chloride (or salt water), the earthing (grounding)
conductor is useful also to reduce the risk of
galvanic corrosion due to electrolytic action,
especially with non-metallic delivery pipe and
safety rope.
E-MPSM Rev1 - Operating Instructions
Make sure the frequency and mains voltage correspond
with the name plate data.
For use in swimming pools (not when persons are in
the pool), garden ponds and similar places, a residual
current device type A with IΔN not exceeding 30 mA
must be installed in the supply circuit.
Install a device for disconnection from the mains
(switch) with a contact separation of at least 3 mm in
all poles.
The pumps are supplied with incorporated capacitor
and thermal protector, with plug.
Connect the plug to a socket with an earth lead.
The motor will stop if overheating is detected by means
of thermal protector and Er10 will appear.
When the windings cool down (after 2 to 4 minutes),
the thermal protector enables re-starting.
The pumps are supplied with power supply type
H07RN-F with plug and cable section equal to or greater
than the value defined at table 13 of IEC 60335-1.
ATTENTION The cable modification is forbidden.
7. PROGRAMMING GUIDE
7.1. Parameters
The following information is displayed:
- Parameters of pump status
- Programming parameters
- Alarms
7.2. Parameter of pump status
They allow to visualize:
- Initial screen (rUn, OFF, StB)
- the measure of the transducer
- the power absorption from the line
- the supply voltage
- the operating temperature of the electronic board
- the current absorption
Starting from the basic display by pushing of the
directional arrow (plus) or (minus)
7.3. Programming parameters
To show the programming parameters, select
(menu).
Will be displayed progressively:
UP – User settings: these are the basis settings
that the user may change.
AP - Advanced settings: these settings are available
only to qualified personnel. To enter password is
required (see paragraph 7.6.).
GP – booster sets settings: this menu should not be
used.
Err - Last 5 alarms. In case of no error, it appears nOnE
AE - You can identify the firmware between the AE
menu. Firmware=AE01+AE02+AE03
