6. Push mode
You will need to make a few adjustments to
enable push mode:
z Set freewheeling
z Mount footrests
(see separate assembly instructions)
z Lock steering
z Adjust push-bar
z Lock backrest
z Fasten seat belt
z Fit storage tray
z Attach shoulder bag
There is no need to fit the seat belt after con-
verting the tricycle to play mode (see Convert-
ing to Play Mode, page 25).
Setting Freewheeling
Automatic freewheeling ensures the tricycle
can be pushed safely while the child's feet rest
on the footrests or on the pedals without the
pedals turning.
z Pull out the freewheeling lock ring towards
the fork (Fig. 24, A).
z Push the tricycle forwards – the pedals
should not turn.
Locking Steering
You can lock the steering. It will then no longer
be possible to steer the front wheel. With the
steering locked you do not have to keep cor-
recting the direction while pushing the tricycle
as your child plays with the handlebars.
z Set the handlebars to the straight ahead
position.
z Turn the toggle on the right-hand side above
the front wheel as far as it will go in clock-
wise direction (Fig. 25, A).
An arrow pointing forward can now be seen on
the top of the toggle, indicating that the steer-
ing is locked.
Caution!
Do not turn the handlebars with force while the
steering is locked! Extreme forces produced
by the lever effect of the handlebars may
irreparably damage the lock.
Adjusting Push-Bar
If the push-bar has not yet been fitted, please
refer to Fitting Push-Bar, page 19.
The tricycle's push-bar makes you and your
child equally mobile. In this way you can take
your child out walking or shopping. By press-
ing the handle on the push-bar downwards,
the tricycle's front wheel comes up and it can
be steered easily in any direction.
