Troubleshooting your Neptune System

If no sound is heard or the red LED is fl ashing once per second on the
Neptune processor LED when the headpiece is in place over the implant, try
the following troubleshooting steps:
1.
Check that the sound processor is "on" and that program, volume, and sensitivity
controls are set in the desired positions.
2.
Visually inspect the cable for any damage or breakage and verify it is fi rmly
attached to the headpiece and sound processor.
3.
Remove any materials (hat, scarf, headband, etc.) that may be covering your
microphone.
4.
Unaided listeners may perform a listening check of the headpiece microphone
as described in the 'Listening to the Microphone and FM Receiver' section of the
User Guide.
5.
Replace the cable.
6.
Replace the headpiece.
If these measures do not resolve the problem, contact your clinician or Advanced
Bionics immediately for further assistance.
If no sound is heard or a solid red LED is indicated on the Neptune processor
LED, try the following troubleshooting steps:
1.
Depress and hold the 'on/off' button for at least 1 second to power down the
sound processor.
2.
Power on the Neptune processor again by depressing the 'on/off' button for at
least 1 second.
If these measures do not resolve the problem, contact your clinician or Advanced
Bionics immediately for further assistance.
If static or distorted sounds are heard, try the following troubleshooting steps:
1.
Remove any materials (hat, scarf, headband, etc.) that may be covering your
microphone.
2.
Visually inspect the cable for any damage or breakage. If any problems are noted,
replace cable.
3.
Verify that the cable is fi rmly attached to the headpiece and sound processor and
that the headpiece is positioned properly on your head.
4.
Verify that program, volume, and sensitivity controls are set in the desired
positions.
5.
If static or distorted sounds persist, replace the headpiece cable.
