Switching on the machine

Check whether the voltage given on the type plate corresponds to
the available mains voltage. The socket used must be earthed (fit-
ted with earth contact). If these conditions have been met, the
machine is ready to operate when the mains plug is plugged in. If
these conditions are not met, safe operation is not guaranteed and
the machine could be damaged.
The appliance will begin to run when you set the on/ off switch (A)
to position "I". The appliance is 'ON' when the control light (B) is
green.
When you start up the appliance,
the drive shaft will begin to run at
the last set speed. It is therefore
important to check the position of
the knob/ the set speed before
switching on. Also make sure that
the set speed is safe for the selec-
ted test texture. If you are not sure,
set the speed knob (D) to the
lowest speed (left stop), (see fig. 7).
Only switch the appliance on once the designated wor-
king height has been set and the stirring instrument is
immersed in the mixing vessel.

Output shaft

The chuck on the off- drive shaft allows stirring elements with
shank diameters of 0.5 to 8 mm to be clamped.
The stirring elements must be clamped deeply enough in the
chuck. You must ensure that the stirring element shank is secure-
ly clamped in the chuck (see fig. 5).
Operation with a freely rotating stirring element without a stirring
vessel is dangerous and is not permitted.

stalls, the laboratory stirrer will switch off automatically and a red
LED "C" (overload display) will illuminate on the front of the appli-
ance (see fig. 7).
Once the cause of the mechanical overload has been removed,
please press the ON/ OFF button (A) to start the appliance again.

If the appliance still does not work, even after switching off and
switching on again following a lengthy break, please contact our
service department. Please describe the fault to us in as much
detail as possible. This makes it easier for us to locate the fault and
give an initial response.
Stirring elements which have not been properly secured
may be catapulted out of the test texture and could
damage glass structures and cause injury.
