GENERAL TOOL
SAFETY WARNINGS
IMPORTANT Read all the warnings and instructions.
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock,
fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
In the warnings, the term electrical tool refers to electrical tools powered
via mains connection (corded) or powered by battery (cordless).
1) Work area safety
• Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite
accidents.
• Do not operate electrical tools in explosive atmospheres, such
as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Electrical
tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
• Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
• Do not expose electrical tools to rain or use them in damp areas.
Water contact with an electrical tool increases the risk of electric shocks.
3) Personal safety
• When using electrical tools, avoid distractions, pay attention
to what you are doing and use common sense. Do not operate
electrical tools when tired or under the effects of drugs or alcohol.
A moment of distraction whilst operating an electrical tool can lead to
serious personal injury.
• Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection.
Protective equipment, such as dust masks, non-slip safety footwear,
safety helmets or ear protection reduce the possibility of suffering
personal injury.
• Avoid accidental start-up. Make sure that the button is in the off
position before connecting the tool to the mains power supply
and/or battery, before picking it up or carrying it. Carrying electrical
tools with your finger on the power button or connecting to the mains
with the button in the on position can cause accidents.
• Do not lose your balance. Always maintain a suitable position
and balance. This enables you to keep optimum control of the electrical
tool in unexpected situations.
• Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose clothes or jewellery. Keep
hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothing,
jewellery or long hair can get caught in moving parts.
4) Use and Maintenance of electrical tools
• Do not force an electrical tool. Use the appropriate tool for the
operation to be carried out. Using the appropriate electrical tool al-
lows you operate more efficiently and safely, within the limits of intended
use.
• Do not use an electrical tool if the on/off button isn't working
correctly. Any electrical tool that cannot be controlled by the on/off
button is dangerous and must be repaired.
GB
Original instructions
• Disconnect the battery from the electrical tool before ma-
king any adjustment, changing accessories or putting it away.
These safety measures reduce the risk of accidental electrical tool start-
up.
• Store idle electrical tools out of the reach of children and do not
allow them to be used by anyone who is inexperienced or who
has not read these instructions. Electrical tools are dangerous if
operated by inexperienced users.
• Maintain electrical tools. Check for possible incorrect assembly
or blocking of moving parts, broken parts and anything else
that could affect the operation of the electrical tool. In the case
of damage, have the electrical tool repaired before use. Many
accidents are caused by the poor state of maintenance of electrical tools.
• Use the electrical tool and its accessories in compliance with
these instructions, taking into consideration the working
conditions and the operation to be carried out. T he use of an
electrical tool for operations other than those for which it is intended
may lead to dangerous situations.
5) Use and Care of rechargeable batteries
• Recharge using the specific manufacturer's charger only. A charger
intended for a specific type of battery may become a fire hazard if used
for other types of battery.
• Use electrical tools with the specific intended battery pack only.
The use of any other type of battery may lead to a risk of injury or fire.
• When the battery is not in use, store it away from other metal
objects, such as paperclips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other
small metal objects that can create a connection between two
terminals. Short-circuiting the battery terminals can cause burns or
fire.
• If in very poor condition, a battery can leak liquid: avoid contact
with the eyes. In the case of accidental contact, rinse imme-
diately under running water. If the liquid comes into contact with
the eyes, seek medical assistance immediately. Battery liquid can
cause irritation or burns.
Keep batteries dry!
Keep batteries away from fi re!
Always recycle batteries at the end of useful life.
6) Service
• All maintenance operations must be undertaken by qualified
technicians who use original spare parts only. This will ensure the
safety of the electrical tool.
7) Additional Warnings for correct tool use
• Use the tool in combination with original Press fi t pressing jaws.
Using non-original pressing jaws is not recommended and,
in any case, must be expressly authorised by the manufacturer.
Pressfit shall not be liable in any way for damage caused by the use of
pressing jaws produced by other manufacturers.
