How to close the machine
- Make sure that the tractor's power take-off is disengaged.
- Raise the machine about 40 cm from the ground.
- Operate the lever of the valve system that closes the units:
pressure delivered to pipe (3 Fig. 16) until full connection of
the hydraulic safety hooks ("CLACK")
NOTE. Make sure that the clips have fully fi tted into the relative
safety pins in the units.(Fig. 17).
- Mount the two side guards (1 Fig. 18) during the transport
phase.
- Check that the rear lights operate correctly since, in its closed
position, the machine covers the rear lights of the tractor.
If the tractor license plate is poorly visible, mount a supplemen-
tary plate in the housing on the rear light bar.
CAUTION
Never engage the pto when the machine is closed as this
would certainly break the transmission unit.
This is because the couplings of the side cardan shafts block
the transmission unit when bent at a 90° angle.
The machine will now be closed and in safety conditions, and
can therefore be taken to the fi eld.
How to open out the machine
- Proceed in the following way once you have reached the place
of work:
- Make sure that there are no persons or animals near the tractor-
machine assembly.
- Operate the lever of the valve system that opens out the units:
pressure is delivered to pipe 4 (Fig. 16).
- First the clips will disconnect and then the transmission units will
lower.(Pic.19)
- The movement made by the units as they close and open may
not be synchronized, but this will not affect the functionality in
any way.
- Once the units have lowered, the operator must lower the ma-
chine until the hoe blades barely touch the ground.
- Once these operations have terminated, engage the power take-
off and begin to work by gradually digging the machine into the
soil.
It is advisable to become fully familiar with these operations
before using the implement.
4.9 WORK DEPTH
Work depth adjustment of the machine is established by the position
of the levelling rollers, of the skids or of the rear wheels (optional).
4.10
LEVELLING ROLLERS
mento in superfi cie.
Packer Roller (pic. 20)
This can be successfully used in very varied conditions, even when
the soil is fat or damp.
It is advisable to prepare heavy soils in combination with a Seed
drill. Possesses a great levelling and crumbling effect on both the
surface and at depth.
Dimensions: D = 500; D = 600.
Spiropacker Roller (pic.21)
Comprises a spiral bar wrapped around a central shaft.
It is particularly suitable for light, sandy soils and leaves a fair
amount of clods on the surface, settling the ground at depth and
