4. Functions
4.1. Defibrillation and ECG ①
The manikin is equipped with electronics that can simulate an ECG-Signal on the manikin.
The control of the signal is done by the virtual ECG-Box inside the Ambu CPR-Software or
by using the external Ambu ECG-Box.
4.1.1 Defibrillation electrodes
The manikin is equipped with two defibrillation electrodes in order defibrillate the
manikin. The defibrillation electrodes (1.1) are placed on the chest of the manikin on the
right chest next to the upper sternum and on left chest around the 5th to 6th rip. (1.2)
If semi-automatic defibrillators or AED's with adhesive chest electrodes are used, special
adapters for the specific defibrillator (simulating the adhesive chest electrodes) should be
fitted to the chest defibrillation electrodes on the manikin making it possible to connect
the cable from the AED's.
