If the motor does not start up check for possible leaks or refer to
causes and solutions as described in the latter part of this manual.
ATTENTION
Avoid rapid retraction of the starting lever to avoid da-
mage to the starting motor.
4.3 Use of the motor drive pump
If the motor pump is being used for the first time or following a long
period of disuse, allow it to warm up for 5 minutes before loading.
Following this recommendation will ensure a longer motor life and
eliminate the risk of rutting.
DANGER - electric shock hazard.
Do not use the motor drive pump under rain or snow. Do
not perform operations with wet or damp hands, nor
with wet feet or base feet, since the user could suffer an electric
shock. Never direct a pressurized water jet towards the motor drive
pump, since this implies the risk of suffering an electric shock.
DANGER - risk of entrapment.
To prevent personal accidents, do not approach the mo-
ving elements of the motor drive pump wearing loose
clothing, ties, chains or with long hair.
DANGER - hot surfaces.
Do not touch the motor or hot parts when the motor
drive pump is in operation or shortly after it has been
stopped. The combustion gas exhaust pipe reaches high temperatu-
res. Do not remove the protective devices which may contain such
parts.
ATTENTION
Do not manipulate the motor drive pump when in ope-
ration. If manipulation is necessary always shut down
the motor..

4.4 Use at altitude

Operation in conditions of altitude
In conditions of altitude, that is in places located high above sea
level the mixture of air and fuel produced by a standard carburettor
is very thick, which results in reduced yield from the motor and
increased fuel consumption. In these conditions to increase the mo-
tor yield attach a nozzle of lower diameter and readjust the motor's
minimum velocity. If the water pump is used frequently in places
located at more than 1800m above sea level, contact the local dis-
tributor to carry out the two previous operations.
In any case, even with a nozzle of adequate dimensions the motor
power will continue to reduce by 3.5% for each 305m of altitude.
If the nozzle is never used or there is no adjustment to minimum
velocity the effect of altitude over the output power will become
more obvious.
ATTENTION
The use of the water pump in places where the height
above sea level is below the optimum for the carburettor
nozzle will result in a reduction in motor yield, overheating and even
serious damage due to the mixture of air and fuel being extremely
low.
4.5 Operation of the water pump
1. Open the choker gradually once the motor has warmed up.
2. Fix the butterfly valve at the predetermined rpm.

4.6 Stopping the Motor

ATTENTION
Before stopping the motor drive pump it is recommen-
ded to leave it running for a view minutes without a load
which allows the motor's internal temperature to drop.
