5. MAINTENANCE
5.1 Maintenance periods
To ensure that the water pump provides high yield and its useful life
is prolonged it is essential to carry out periodical inspections and
adaptations. A table can be referenced later in the manual which
provides the maintenance inter vals and the operations which
should be carried out.
DANGER - electrocution.
Do not unplug the spark plug cable to stop the motor,
as there is a risk of electric shock. Befor e attempting
any maintenance operation, stop the motor and remove the spark
plug cable.
DANGER - hot surfaces.
Do not touch the motor or hot parts when the mo-
tor drive pump is in operation or shortly after it has
been stopped. The combustion gas exhaust pipe reaches high
temperatures. Do not remove the protective devices which may
contain such parts.
PROHIBITED - manipulation or repair.
Manipulations or repairs can only be carried
out by official service technicians. It is prohi-
bited for untrained personal to use the motor drive pump.
The user may only attempt those manipulations indicated in the
manual. The manufacturer is not responsible for any other manipu-
lations that the user undertakes.
ATTENTION
Before under taking any maintenance operations, ensu-
re the motor has been switched off. If for any reason
these must be carried out with the motor in operation, ensure it is
within a well-ventilated space as the exhaust gas contains carbon
monoxide which may cause loss of consciousness or even death.
ATTENTION
When the pump is used in the suction of seawater, en-
sure that it is cleaned with distilled water immediately
after use. In this way, the effects of corrosion will be reduced and
sediment will be eliminated.
