IMPORTANT CAUTIONARY NOTES
• This M.D. is also intended for direct use by the patient.
• Before using the unit for the first time, and periodically throughout its life, check the integrity of its
structure and the power cable, making sure that there is no damage; if it is damaged, do not insert
the plug and take the product immediately to an authorized FLAEM technical assistance centre or
to your local dealer. Take the appliance immediately to an authorised service centre or your dealer.
• Should your device fail to provide the expected performance, contact the authorised service cen-
tre for clarifications.
• This unit is especially suitable for administering drugs in solution form and can also work with
drugs in suspension form. However, in the case of some glycol containing drugs the instructions
for use advise against using ultrasound devices, since these drugs cannot be nebulised with them.
• Interactions: the materials used that come into contact with drugs have been tested with a wide
range of medications. However, due to the variety and continuous evolution of medication, the
possibility of a chemical interaction cannot be excluded. Once opened, the medication should be
used as soon as possible, and prolonged contact between drug and nebuliser chamber should be
avoided.
• The appliance is not suitable for essential oils or balsamic substances.
• Do not run the appliance if it does not contain any solution.
• If the upper part is not correctly fitted in, the appliance does not work; If the upper part is removed
during the operation, the appliance switches off automatically.
To start it again place the upper part it its housing and press button (A1).
• Use the unit with a dose of at least 4 ml to be nebulised; if necessary, dilute the drug with physi-
ological solution.
• It is normal for there to be a non-nebulised drug residual of around 0.5 – 0.8 ml at the end of treat-
ment; therefore, when nebulisation becomes discontinuous, stop the treatment as it is pointless
to insist on nebulising the remainder, thus causing the unit to overheat.
• Always keep the unit in an upright position to prevent the medication from spilling out.
• Do not use the tubes and the cords of the device for purposes other than those specified as they
may cause strangulation hazard; utmost attention must be paid to children and persons with spe-
cial needs; usually, such persons are not capable of assessing the hazard correctly.
• The average service life of the device is about 600 hours.
• Children and disabled persons should always use the unit under strict supervision of an adult who
has read this manual.
• Several parts of the device are small enough to be swallowed by children; therefore keep the de-
