5 Preparation for use

INFORMATION
According to the Ottobock alignment recommendations, bench alignment of the waterproof walking
device with the 1WR95 Aqua Foot on 0 mm heel height is usually only possible with the aid of the
angled tube adapter. Use the 2WR95=1 tube adapter which is angled at the top. If necessary, the
2WR95 straight tube adapter can be used in the thigh area for TF patients.
5.1 Alignment recommendations
INFORMATION
The following instructions apply to the tube adapters 2WR95 and 2WR95=1 and the tube
clamp adapter 4WR95=3.

5.2 Shortening the tube adapter

CAUTION
Risk of material damage due to deformation
The tube may not be clamped in a vise while working on it.
INFORMATION
The cut must be perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tube (see Fig. 2).
The tube adapter must be shortened according to the patient's measurements. Special care must
be taken to ensure that the tube is not deformed. A deformed tube cannot be fit easily into the
tube clamp adapter.
We recommend using the 719R2 tube cutter or a similar tool.
1) Use the tube cutter to shorten the tube adapter to fit the patient's measurements.
2) Deburr the inside and outside of the cut edge using the 718R1 tube deburring tool (see Fig. 3)
or a similar tool.
3) Loosen the tube clamp adapter cap screw by approx. 2 turns.
4) Slide the tube 5 mm into the tube clamp adapter while turning it slightly.
5) Slide the tube adapter into the tube clamp adapter until the tube rests against the bottom of the collar.
5.3 Adjustment
NOTICE
Risk of corrosion
The set screws of stainless steel can optionally be replaced by 506G5* titanium set screws,
which increase the protection against corrosion.
The four set screws can be used to make static adjustments at any time during alignment, trial fit-
tings, and even after the prosthesis is finished. The previously adjusted position can be maintained
if a module is replaced or during disassembly, if only the two set screws which are located beside
one another and turned in the furthest are removed.
Use the 710D4 torque wrench to tighten the set screws.
• For trial fittings, tighten the adapter set screws clockwise with a torque of 10 Nm.
