REGULATION
These products satisfy the European Medical Device Directive 93/42/CEE (RD. 1591/2009). A Risk Analysis has been
carried out (UNE EN ISO 14971) minimising all the existing risks. The trials have been carried out in accordance with
the European regulation UNE-EN ISO 22523 of Prosthesis and Orthesis.
SUITABLE FOR
Any restraint system is indicated in all cases where, insecurity, lack of postural control or risk to the patient may
become unstable, both in active or passive means (wheelchairs, beds, etc.).
They opt for either of these devices as postural control needs and support required by the patient.
These devices have no specific and multiple reasons are both psychological and physical that require this treatment.
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
THE PRODUCT SHOULD BE ADJUSTED BY YOUR ORTHOPAEDIC TECHNICIAN OR IN ACCORDANCE WITH DOCTOR'S OR-
DERS.
In order to obtain a greater degree of therapeutic effectiveness in the different pathologies and to prolong the life
and utility of the product, it is fundamental that the correct size adequate for each patient or user is chosen (enclosed
in the packet is a diagram with all the sizes and the equivalent in centimetres). An excess compression can produce
intolerance, therefore we recommend that the compression be regulated to an optimum degree.
In order to facilitate the adaptation and positioning of the harnesses, the belts are colour-coded for identification,
therefore facilitating the correct assembly of the different straps by function and position and ensuring correct,
straightforward adaptation. If necessary, the prolongation strap can be ordered as an accessory for a wider seat,
chair or bed (ref:1100).
To fit observe the following aspects:
JACKET HARNESS WITH ZIP-1000:
⋅ Adaptation:
With the zip up, place the jacket around the thorax and the abdomen whilst the patient remains seated, then pass the
waist strap over the back of the chair, securing the patient and the back support. Use the buckle to adjust the length,
keeping the fasteners tightened.
Pass the straps over the shoulders, placing them behind the back support and crossing them to fasten.
Once fastened, tighten the straps until the required securement is achieved.
Finally, free the patient by simply unzipping. Likewise, simply zip up to secure the patient.
JACKET HARNESS-1001:
⋅ Adaptation:
Place the jacket around the thorax and the abdomen whilst the patient remains seated, then pass the waist strap
over the back of the chair, securing the patient and the back support. Use the buckle to adjust the length, keeping
the fasteners tightened.
Pass the straps over the shoulders, placing them behind the back support and crossing them to fasten.
Once fastened, tighten the straps until the required securement is achieved.
JACKET HARNESS WITH PERINEUM PIECE-1002:
⋅ Adaptation:
Place the jacket around the thorax and the abdomen whilst the patient remains seated, then pass the waist and
shoulder straps over the back of the chair, securing the patient and the back support.
Adjust the length with the sliding buckle, keeping the fasteners tightened, then pass the perineum strap between
the legs, introducing them through the gap between the back support and the seat using the fastener to join the end.
Finally, adjust the different straps (abdominal, perineum and shoulders) until the required securement is achieved.
The perineum strap can be used in seats in which the back support is separated from the seat, in which case the
strap can be introduced between the two. Should the back support and the seat be joined together in a single piece,
the perineum strap should fasten round the seat, sliding the strap underneath towards the back support where the
corresponding buckle for securement and fastening is found.
LEG ABDUCTOR HARNESS-1003:
⋅ Adaptation:
With the lumbar plate coinciding with the lumbar zone and gluteus of the patient, pass the inside of the nylon dobby
over the abdominal zone, fasten the buckle and adjust the pressure with the slide. Then introduce the thigh supports
between the legs, securing each thigh with its corresponding support. Pass it over the thighs towards the sides. At
the back of the patient, join the nylon dobbies and fasten with the buckles, then adjust the tightness of the belts
using the slide.
ABDOMINAL BELT-1004:
⋅ Adaptation:
Place the belt around the patient's abdomen, fastening it to the back support using the securement straps. Join both
ends of the abdominal straps at the rear of the back support using the fastening system, pulling both straps tight
until the required securement is achieved.
ABDOMINAL BELT AND PERINEUM PIECE-1005:
⋅ Adaptation:
Place the belt around the patient's abdomen, fastening it to the back support using the securement straps. Pass the
lower strap through the perineum zone between the thighs. Join both ends of the abdominal straps at the rear of the
back support using the fastening system, pulling both straps tight until the required securement is achieved, then
attach the perineum strap to the T-shape securement piece and adjust.
The perineum strap should go round the patient and slide under or through the seat towards the back support, where
the corresponding buckle can be found for securement and fastening.
WRIST HARNESS-1007:
⋅ Adaptation:
Girdle the wrist guard to the patient's forearm using the Velcro fasteners, pass the end of the nylon dobby through
the bed frame and secure with the buckle, then regulate the length of the strap until the required movement limita-
tion range is achieved.
The wrist harness also allows adaptation to the armrests of a seat or chair, provided they are designed in such a way
as the end of the nylon dobby can be fastened to them.
ANKLE HARNESS-1008:
⋅ Adaptation:
Girdle the strap to the patient's ankle using the Velcro fasteners, pass the end of the nylon dobby through the bed
frame and secure with the buckle, then regulate the length of the strap until the required movement limitation range
is achieved.
The ankle harness also allows adaptation to the legs of a seat or chair, provided they are designed in such a way as
the end of the nylon dobby can be fastened to them.
MAGNETIC HARNESS-1010:
Abdominal securement harnesses for beds.
⋅ Positioning on the bed:
Extend the harness over the bed at the height of the abdominal zone with the hand clasps towards the feet.
The ends of the lower part have attachment straps with holes reinforced with metal rings, to be passed through the
bed frame.
The upper part has a series of slides and straps, also with holes reinforced with metal rings, which allow us to adjust
the degree of rotation permitted for the patient.
Join the frame straps and the abdominal corset strap using the magnetic fastener, introducing the metal rod and at-
taching with the set button. Once the abdominal corset has been adapted, use the metal rings to select the required
range of rotation movement for the patient.
Prolongation straps are included for use with a wider bed.
⋅ Positioning on the patient:
Completely extend the upper belt and lie the patient down, ensuring the strap coincides with the patient's abdominal
zone.Secure the patient by overlapping one end on the other.
Introduce the rod through one of the orifices (metal rings) of the lower tab, which is protected with a strap of the
same fabric, therefore preventing the loss of the rod in opening and closing movements. Then extend the upper tab,
girdling it to the patient and adjusting, and introduce the rod in the required orifice. Finally, place the set button on
the rod, ensuring it is perfectly in place.
Ensure all the components are properly in place and the mobility range required for the patient is correct.
This system allows the patient to move his or her arms and legs, sit down and make small sideways movements.
Should the immobilisation of arms and legs be required, use the components designed for this purpose.
BED SECUREMENT HARNESS-1011:
⋅ Adaptation:
The lower strap should be extended at the height of the patient's abdomen, securing it to the frame of the bed using
the nylon dobbies.
Once the lower strap is properly secured and the upper strap is completely open, lie the patient down and secure
using the upper strap at the height of the abdomen, then fasten the belt using the buckle and tighten the strap,
adjusting it until the required securement is achieved.
WRIST TO BELT HARNESS WITH MAGNETS-1013:
⋅ Adaptation:
This wrist securement device must be positioned with a system for abdominal securement to the bed, ref: 1010.
⋅ Complete immobilisation:
Pass the fastener strip through the clasp at the bottom of the abdominal securement system, and adjust the system
around the wrist, fixing it in place with the Arnetec Fix safety fastener, ensuring that it is aligned in the upper part.
⋅ Immobilisation with mobility control:
Pass the fastener, adjust the wrist guard to the wrist and secure.
Secure the end of the belt using the fastener, selecting the corresponding hole in order to allow the required range
of movement.
WRIST TO BED HARNESS WITH MAGNETS-1014:
⋅ Adaptation:
This system is designed to secure the wrist to the bed frame. Secure the wrist strap using the fastener and fasten
the other end using the bed frame, positioning the magnetic fastener to regulate freedom of movement by selecting
the corresponding hole.
ANKLE TO BED HARNESS WITH MAGNETS-1015:
⋅ Adaptation:
This securement system comprises 1 base strap secured to the bed frame and 2 individual ankle supports; secure
the base strap to the bed frame, ensuring that it is as taut as possible, and adjust using the holes and magnetic
fasteners, making sure that it is at ankle height.
Then secure to the ankle using the magnetic fastener system and selecting the corresponding hole.
Secure the end of the base strap using the magnetic button, adjusting at the corresponding hole, in order to regulate
the required range of movement.
ADAPTATION TO CHAIR OR ARMCHAIR:
1017-ABDOMINAL MAGNET HARNESS FOR CHAIR WITH BUCKLES
1018-ABDOMINAL MAGNET HARNESS FOR CHAIR
Attach the harness to the back support using the straps designed for this. The attachment system allows you to adjust
the tension to various back support widths for the chair or armchair.
If you have the magnet model, select the desired hole and attach it using the magnet.
If you selected the buckle system, adjust the tension using the loop system, which allows you to loosen and set it
using the buckle.
