3 Description
The 14A110 Lock with Release Button attaches the 14Y1/14Y5 Ottobock
Silicone Arm Liner to the prosthesis.
Pressing a release button on the lock disengages the 14A107 Pin from the lock.
Important!
During socket fabrication, please make sure that the residual limb
is healthy and free of any swelling, redness, or similar physical
impairments. The socket must be fabricated with the standard pin
included in the delivery.
If the length of the 14A107 Pin is insufficient for engaging in the
lock due to short-term fluctuations of residual limb volume, it can be
replaced. A longer pin may be used only in exceptional cases for
a short time. Use of a longer pin must be examined and evaluated
by the responsible prosthetist in advance on a case-by-case basis.
In addition, the prosthetist must make sure that the prosthesis fits
securely and can be used without restrictions with a longer pin.
Never use a longer pin to compensate for a poorly fitted socket. In
such cases a new socket must be fabricated immediately.
The following lengths are available (not included in the delivery):
14A107=1 (28 mm)
14A107=2 (33 mm)
For myoelectric prostheses use only a standard pin. A change in
pin length could alter the position of the electrodes with the result
that the optimal control of the myoelectric prosthetic components
can no longer be guaranteed.
4 Fabrication of Inner and Outer Socket
The 14A111 Dummy Set is required for socket fabrication.
Fabrication instructions are described in Technical Information Bulletin 3.3.1.
