The orthosis is delivered ready for trial fitting.
1. To apply the orthosis, completely open it and position the foot in the
middle of the orthosis (Fig. 1).
2. Position the side elements medially and laterally on the ankle joints
and close the lower hook and loop closure (Fig. 2).
3. Then close the upper hook and loop closure (Fig. 3).
4. If necessary, the cooling elements can be exchanged with the textile
elements (Fig. 4).
Observe the corresponding instructions for use in Section 2.3.
2.3 Instructions for Use and Care
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to incorrect use of the cooling elements. The cooling
elements should not come into direct contact with the naked skin, since
this could result in local frost injuries/blisters. When using the cooling
elements, textile material (e. g. a towel) must always be placed between
the cooling element and skin.
NOTICE
Damage caused by wear and tear. Before each use, the orthosis must
be checked for functional reliability and for possible wear or damage. If
a closure or any other part of the orthosis shows any signs of wear, the
orthosis should no longer be used.
Improper changes to the product are not permitted.
The orthosis must be used in strict conformity with the indication. The phy-
sician's instructions must be strictly observed.
Material: Side elements: polyethylene; textile pads: velour/PU; inner side
of the textile: PU; hook and loop closures: nylon straps
Cooling elements: During the acute phase, patients can use the cooling
elements for cooling as long as this is comfortable for them. Otherwise,
the textile elements are to be used. For "(re)charging", remove the cooling
elements and put them into the freezing compartment of a refrigerator for
at least 6 hours (over night, if possible, at -18 °C maximum).
