ACTIVATING AND DEACTIVATING THE ALARMS
For an alarm to turn on the radio, it must be activated. To activate the alarm
to be used, turn off the G6 and press the appropriate alarm button, #1-3.
Note the alarm symbol above the button. This causes the alarm activation
symbol to appear in the display, activating the selected alarm. To deactivate
the alarm, press the appropriate #1-3 button, causing the alarm activation
symbol to disappear from the display.
USING THE LIGHT
The light illuminates the display.
Normal Mode: Pressing any button activates the light. The light auto-
matically turns off after 5 seconds.
Manual Light-On/Off Mode: If the light is off, pressing the LIGHT
button activates the light for 5 seconds. Pressing it again within 5 seconds
turns the light off.
Always-On Mode: When powered by its AC adapter and the light button
is pressed, the light remains on when the G6 is turned on.
EXTERNAL ANTENNA SOCKET
The external antenna socket is used to connect the G6 to advanced perfor-
mance shortwave antennas using a 50 or 75-Ohm coaxial cable feed-line
or to a long wire antenna. When using a 50 to 75 Ohm feedline, it may be
necessary to attenuate the signal using an antenna tuner or other method.

STEREO/MONO BUTTON
When listening to FM stations this switch selects stereo or monaural. Select
stereo when using earphones. When not using earphones, it's OK to leave
it on stereo. In either case, if the FM signal is poor, selecting mono may
improve it. When this is turned on 'ST' appears in the display.
MEGABASS-MUSIC/NEWS SWITCH
AM/FM – The MEGABASS-MUSIC position creates a 'brighter' music sound.
The NEWS position creates a less 'bright' sound.
Shortwave – The MEGABASS-MUSIC position creates the best audio fidel-
ity. The NEWS position helps to minimize interference from other stations.
REAR FOLDING STAND
Pull the folding stand from the rear of the G6, allowing viewing at a com-
fortable angle.
RESET BUTTON
The reset button is located inside the small hole labeled RESET. If the G6
operates erratically, poke a paper clip into the reset hole to reset its micro-
processor. This does not erase memory, but does reset the clock to 00:00.
To reset everything, including memory, turn the G6 off, do a long press on 0
9 0 and then press a paperclip into the RESET hole.
