Grounding Instructions:

This appliance must be grounded. In the event of an
electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric
shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current.
Be sure your appliance is properly installed and grounded
by a qualified technician. Installation, electrical connections
and grounding must comply with all applicable codes.
WARNING:
Do not use an extension cord. Improper
grounding can result in a risk of electric shock.
Consult a qualified electrician if the grounding
instructions are not completely understood, or if
doubt exists as to whether the appliance is
properly grounded. If the power cord is too short,
have a qualified electrician install an outlet near
the appliance.
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not use this
fan with any solid-state speed control devices.
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK
AND INJURY TO PERSONS OBSERVE THE
FOLLOWING:
1. This ventilator assembly must be installed with
®
THERMADOR
recommended blowers only. Contact
Customer Service for additional options.
2. Use this unit only in the manner intended by the
manufacturer. If you have questions, contact the

THERMADOR
Customer Service at
1-800-735-4328.
3. Before servicing or cleaning unit, switch power OFF at
service panel and lock the service disconnecting
means to prevent power from being switched on
accidentally. When the service disconnecting means
cannot be locked, securely fasten a prominent warning
device, such as a tag, to the service panel.
4. Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by
qualified person(s) in accordance with all applicable
codes and standards, including fire-rated construction.
5. Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and
exhausting of gases through the flue (chimney) of fuel
burning equipment to prevent back drafting. Follow the
heating equipment manufacturer's guideline and safety
standards such as those published by the National Fire
Protection Association (NFPA), The American Society
for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
Engineers (ASHRAE), and the local code authorities.
6. When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, be careful
not to damage electrical wiring and other hidden
utilities.
7. Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors.
8. To properly exhaust air, be sure to duct air outside. Do
not vent exhaust air into spaces within walls, ceilings,
attics, crawl spaces or garages.
9. Before you plug in an electrical cord, be sure all
controls are in the OFF position.
WARNING:
Lamp holder might be hot. Disconnect from
power before servicing. Allow unit to cool after
the power has been turned off before servicing.
WARNING:
Local building codes may require the use of
make-up air systems when using ducted
ventilation systems greater than specified CFM
of air movement. The specified CFM varies from
locale to locale. Consult your HVAC professional
for specific requirements in your area.
CAUTION:
For general ventilating use only. DO NOT use to
exhaust hazardous or explosive materials or
vapors.
