Set the event threshold values
A plant and/or agent event
signal threshold or agent trigger signal threshold. When a plant event occurs, the plant library is
searched for a match. When an agent event occurs, the agent library is searched for a match. If both
a plant event and agent event occurs, both libraries are searched for a match.
1. Push CONFIGURATION.
2. Enter the user name and password, then push OK.
3. Push Event Monitor. The event threshold(s) and sensor nominal values show
4. Select the threshold value in the Entry Field column, then enter a threshold value. Initially, set the
plant event threshold at 3 and the agent event
5. Enter the nominal value for the applicable sensor in the Entry Field column, then enter the typical
or average reading for that sensor.
The nominal value is used to calculate the trigger signal value if the sensor value invalid, missing
or frozen. Refer to
6. Push Save, then OK.
Record the influence of normal plant operations on the trigger signal for a few days to several weeks.
Look at the trigger signal graphs for the magnitude of water quality changes. If the changes are much
less than the current trigger level thresholds, decrease the thresholds as necessary.
Optimum agent threshold—To select the optimum agent threshold value, think about how likely is
an agent threat attack versus the cost associated with false positives. While false positives are not
likely, they may occasionally occur. To decrease the number of false positives, increase the
threshold value. A true threat may cause an event that shows over an extended period of time and
with a relatively high trigger signal value.
Users and roles
There are three pre-defined roles with pre-defined screen/button access rights: Operator, Service
and Superintendent. Refer to . There are no pre-defined users.
Users and roles can be added, changed or erased, including the pre-defined roles. Each user is
assigned one role. Each role is assigned a unique set of access rights.
Add, change or remove a user
Note: Do not delete all the users because user access will be lost.
1. From the Main Menu, push CONFIGURATION.
2. Enter the user name and password and push OK.
3. Push Users.
4. To add a user:
a. Push Add.
b. Enter a unique user name.
c. Enter the initial password for the user two times.
d. Select the role of the user. The access rights for the selected role show.
Note: The access rights for roles cannot be changed on this screen.
e. Push Save>OK.
5. To change the role of a user:
a. Push Modify.
b. Select the user.
c. Select a different role.
