Warnings

WARNING!
The Manufacturer declines all responsibilities if the precautions below are not taken.
The accomplishments concerning working environment safety and health regulations indicated by the current
laws (Dir. 2003/10/EC, Dir. 2002/44/EC and Legislative Decree no. 81/2008) have to be carried out either by the end-
user or by the employer: supplying the adequate personal protective equipment, informing about working risks,
health surveillance, etc.... The over-exposure to the vibrations may cause neurovascular lesions to people suffer-
ing from circulatory disorders. In case of symptoms which could be referred to over-exposure, contact a specialist.
These symptoms can be torpor, loss of sensitivity, sharp pains, itching, strength reduction or loss, complexion
discoloration or structural modifications of its surface. This usually happens to one's hands, wrists and fingers.
2.1.1

Results of the tests made according to the Laws

WARNING!
The mechanical harvesting head (2) can only be power-supplied by one of the power units produced by the Man-
ufacturer.
WARNING!
The results of the tests made according to the Laws are indicated inside the manual of the above-mentioned
power unit models.
The tests which have been carried out are the following:

Risks due to the operator's contact with noise and vibrations of the equipment and with the electro-magnetic
fields.
2.2

General warnings

WARNING!
Use the tool only while standing on the ground in a safe and stable position.
Always use adequate clothing as called for by the job. Wear tight clothing. Do not wear ties, necklaces or belts which
may get caught in the moving parts. Use goggles, safety shoes and anti-vibration gloves (picture C).
Do not operate, service or repair the equipment, if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, which could impair
your alertness or co-ordination.
Only well trained and qualified personnel, who have read this Use and Maintenance Manual carefully, are allowed to
use the tool.
Keep children and animals away from the tool.
Do not alter the safety and protective devices.
The operator is the only responsible for injuries caused to other people or for damages caused to their belongings.
Do not use the tool when you are in an unstable position or off balance.
Do not use the tool while standing on a ladder.
Keep the rakes (1) and, in general, all moving parts away from your face
Before any maintenance operation, switch the tool off (put the ON-OFF switch in OFF position), disconnect the power
supply cable and the battery (see the chosen power unit manual).
Before any routine maintenance operation, read this Use and Maintenance Manual carefully. For any other maintenance
operation, which is not described in this manual, take the tool to an Authorised Service Point.
Use the tool only for the purposes described in par. "Product description". Any other use could cause injuries.
2.3

Use

Always wear goggles or a visor, safety shoes and anti-vibration gloves and a noise-abatement headset.
The working position must be stable and safe.

Do not leave the tool in the rain. Keep it in a dry place.
Do not carry the tool by the power supply cable.
The same operator shall not use the tool for a prolonged time. Two operators shall alternate working for one hour and
then having a one hour's break. A prolonged use could be excessively tiring for the operator.
When the tool is not used, select the OFF mode in the ON-OFF switch.
