4. Prior to commissioning
Remove the packaging material and check the scope of
delivery for its completeness. Place the generator on a
stable and level surface in close proximity to the load
and in a ventilated environment.
4.1 Electrical safety:
Check electrical devices and cables. They must be in
•
perfect condition.
Only devices whose voltage data correspond may be
•
connected to the output voltage of the generator.
Never connect the generator to the power network
•
(power socket).
Keep the cable lengths to the load as short as possible.
•
4.2 Environmental protection
Dispose of dirtied maintenance materials and operating
•
supplies at a designated collection point.
Recycle packaging materials, metals and plastics.
•
4.3 Earthing
Earthing the housing is required in order to discharge
static charge. In order to do so, connect a cable on the
one side to the earthing connection of the generator (fig.
2/pos. 8) and on the other side to an external mass (e.g.
earthing rod).
4.4 Fuelling
Unscrew the tank lid (fig. 1/pos. 2) and fill a maximum of
4.0 l unleaded petrol into the tank reservoir by means of
a filler neck. Make sure not to overfill the tank resulting
in petrol spilling. Soak up spilled petrol and wait until the
petrol fumes have volatilised (risk of ignition). Lock the
tank lid.
4.5 Filling oil
Remove the engine cover (fig. 6a-6b/pos. 5) by means of
a screwdriver. Open the oil filling plug (fig. 8/pos. 26) and
