7.5- Cardan shaft maintenance
Lubricate the drive shaft tube and its square bar section
(1) each 50 working hours or weekly.
Follow the steps:
A) By having the cardan uncoupled, press the three
locks simultaneously (2) and force the ´skirt´ (3) down.
Repeat the same procedure with the ´skirt´ of theother
edge.
B) Take off the circular lock (4) of both edges, releasing
one part of the tube.
C) Take the tube cap off (5).
D) Lubricate the tube internal extremity and the cardan
bar by using good quality grease.
E) Put the cover (5) back and attach it to the circular
locks (4).
F) Having the cardan in a vertical position, slide the
´skirts´ until they are in the original position. Align the
grease cup of the ´skirts´ by using the existent circular
locks.
G) Grease the nozzle of the circular locks (4).
Note:
Incorrect or not sufficient lubrication will result
in excessive heat of the bearings as well as
the cardan locking and rupture. It may cause
serious injuries to those people that are near.
