11. OPERATING MODES DESCRIPTION
The pump can operate in 4 different operating modes.
Depending on the system in which the pump operates, the
pump can be set in the most appropriate mode.
Pump modes:
• Automatic mode (factory setting)
• Proportional pressure
• Constant pressure
• Constant speed
Each mode can coexist with the night mode
A
Automatic mode (factory setting)
In automatic mode, the pump automatically sets its operating
pressure according to the status of the hydraulic system.
By doing so, the pump automatically finds the optimal
operating position.
10
This mode is recommended in most systems. The parameters
cannot be set; they can only be scrolled through.
Proportional pressure (Fig. 4a)
In this mode the pump continually regulates the head based
on the flow rate, by varying the pressure in linear fashion
within the maximum to minimum range. The value to be
set (Hset on the drawing) corresponds to the maximum
pressure at maximum power; at 0 flow the pressure will be
equivalent to 50% of the pressure set (Hset/2). Between
these two values, the pressure will change linearly, in
relation to the flow.
In this mode only the pump pressure can be set (Hset
on the drawing); the remaining parameters can only be
scrolled through.
Constant pressure (Fig. 4b)
In this mode the pump maintains the currently set pressure
(Hset on the drawing) constant, regardless from the demand
of the system (from 0 flow to maximum power, at which
point the pressure begins to drop). At constant pressure,
only the pressure (Hset on the drawing) that the pump
will maintain constant can be set. The remaining parameters
can only be scrolled through.
Constant speed (Fig. 4c)
In this mode the pump maintains the currently set speed
constant (RPMset on the drawing). It is therefore possible to
set only the speed that the pump will maintain constant;
the remaining parameters can only be scrolled through.
Night mode
The "night mode" is not an indipendent mode, it can
only be activated in combination with one of the above
mentioned modes.
When operating in night mode, the pump automatically
switches between the curve of the selected operating
mode to the night curve. Switching to the night mode
depends on the temperature of the fluid in the system:
when the pump senses that the temperature of the fluid has
dropped by 15-20C° (in 2 hours approx.), the icon starts to
flash and the pump switches to the night curve. When the
temperature of the fluid rises again, the icon stops flashing
and the pump switches over to the operating curve in the
selected operating mode.
In night mode the pump automatically set to lower head
and flow, thus assuring high saving energy during the night.
12. TWIN PUMPS
The main purpose of the twin pump is uninterrupted operation
if one of the pumps fails. During normal operation, only one
pump is active, while the other is in standby.
12.1 Twin Pumps with communcation module (Ego
TC Slim)
Twin Pumps with communication module (Ego TC Slim)
change duty once per day. Every pump operates according
to its own settings, so parameter changes should be made
on both pumps. If any pump detects an error or loss of
communication, the standby pump will start in less than
15 seconds. Common hydraulic housing is equipped with
a change-over flap, which opens regarding on the flow and
