OPERATION
1.)
To properly use the laser tool, set it on a flat, smooth surface. The self-leveling range is
approx. ±5 degrees in any direction.

To turn the laser tool on, press and release the POWER/MODE Button. The Laser Status
Indicator light should illuminate "green" if the laser tool is within its leveling range. If the
Laser Status Indicator light illuminates "red" and the laser line is flashing, the laser tool is
out of its self-leveling range. Reposition the laser tool to a more level surface.

Pressing and releasing the POWER/MODE button will cycle the laser tool through its modes
of operation. (Fig 2A)
1. First Press – Self-leveling Horizontal Line Only
2. Second Press – Self-leveling Vertical Line Only
3. Third Press – Self-leveling Cross Line
4. Forth Press – Tilt "Manual" Cross Line
5. Fifth Press – off

The laser tool defaults to Indoor mode when it is turned on. To place the laser tool into
Outdoor Mode, to be used with the laser line detector, press the Indoor/Outdoor Mode
Button .(Fig 2C) The Indoor/Outdoor Mode Indicator will illuminate "green" to indicate that
the laser has gone from Indoor (non-pulsed) to Outdoor (pulsed) operation. The
Indoor/Outdoor option can only be used when the laser tool is in Horizontal or Vertical
Modes only. The laser tool will return to Indoor (non-pulsed) mode whenever it is place in
Self-leveling Cross Line or Manual Cross Line Mode of operation.

Turn the laser tool OFF by pressing and releasing the POWER/MODE button to cycle through
the functions to OFF.
Note: If the laser tool appears to be within its self-leveling range and the Laser Status Indicator
continues to blink, the batteries are getting weak. The laser tool will continue to work.
Eventually, the laser line brightness will fade - replace with fresh batteries when
this happens.
POWER
Open the battery cover by releasing the battery door clip on the bottom of the housing. (Fig. 3) If
replacing batteries, remove the existing batteries. Insert three "AA" batteries into the laser tool.
Be sure to check for battery polarity, as indicated inside the battery housing. (Fig. 3)
Note: Refer to Electrical Safety Procedures prior to replacing the batteries.
Alkaline batteries offer the longest battery life when used in this laser tool.
Note: Extreme temperatures and the use of batteries with different levels of charge can reduce the
operating time of the laser tool. Always use batteries with the same power rating and from the
same manufacturer. For the proper disposal of the used batteries, see the section
"Environmental Protection".
