4.4 PREPARATIONS FOR SEED DISTRIBUTION
(mod. S)
To obtain the correct rate of seed distribution per hectare (Kg/Ha)
the distributing parts must be suitably adjusted: the gearbox, the
feeler pins and the rollers.
A rough guide can be obtained from the seed planting table (see
sowing test chapter 4.4.6).
The values that you will need for this are: planting unit model,
number of rows, type of seed (wheat, barley, etc.) the amount
in kg to be distributed per hectare and the distance between the
rows to be sowed.
4.4.1 ADJUSTMENT OF DOSING ROLLERS
The most appropriate type of seed distributor roller must be se-
lected prior to sowing on the basis of the type of seed being drilled
(Fig. 407).
The machine is tted with rollers for small, medium and large seeds.
Select the type of distributing roller according to the information
given in Table 5 (page 58).
Which is selected by inserting the key supplied (Fig. 407) into the
slot on the left side of the roller and push the drag retainer all the
way out. Perform the a.m. operation in inverse order to retum the
roller to its initial position.
4.4.2 ADJUSTMENT OF SEED GATES
The seed gates for (Fig. 408) closing off the seed ow from the
hopper have two positions:
open gate: seed ow completely open.
C1)
closed gate: seed ow completely closed and therefore
C2)
the seeds do not reach the distributing roller.
