7. Set Zone Run Times (con't)
If you set several run times in a row (before the LCD returns to
status), you do not need to press the Run Time button every time.
After you have incremented the run time to the desired duration,
press the zone
key followed by the triangle
number will increase one number, and the run time will be changed
without pressing the Run Time key again.

8. % Water Budget
Water budget changes the duration of run times in a program by the
percentage entered 1-200% (i.e. a 10 minute run time at 50% water
budget will run 5 minutes). This feature is useful when changes in
weather occur. If it is unusually dry, you may want to extend your run
time for each zone in a program. With % Water Budget, you can
change one number, and all run times in the program are changed.
Press the purple % Water Budget key on the circular pad. The LCD
will show the Water Budget percentage and the program letter. Press
gray triangle
or
to choose desired percentage amount.

If a water budget is set for 110% or greater, the run time will be split in
half to reduce runoff. Half of the calculated run time will operate for
each zone in that program, followed by the second half of the run time
for each zone.
Calculated (water budget adjusted) run time will be displayed when a
zone is running. During programming, the unadjusted run time
(independent of water budget) will be displayed.
Remember, % Water Budget is changeable by program. If you have
programming in A, B, C and S, you must enter four water budget
values if you want every program to be changed.
9. Set Start Times
A start time is the time of day a program will start running. Press the
dark purple 1, 2, 3 or 4 key on circular pad. The Start Time area on
the LCD will blink and the Program Letter and Start Time number will
be displayed. Press the gray
desired start time. Repeat up to four times, once for each dark purple
button (1, 2, 3, 4). To delete a start time, scroll to blank (—:—) located
between 11:59 p.m. and 12:00 a.m.

Stacking Start Times:
DATE
Start times that are scheduled to occur at the same time will be
"stacked" in a cue so that none are skipped. Stacking is prioritized by
program and start time. All "A" program items will run first, followed by
DAILY
B, and C. "S" programs will occur at their scheduled time, since the S
program is designed to operate simultaneously with the other
programs (see Programs, page 4).

ERROR CODES

The SmartZone™ controller has several error codes to make
diagnosing a problem easier. A few of the codes are not necessarily
errors, but are a communication tool of the controller (i.e. E6 means a
sensor has suspended watering). Error codes have numeric priority
and only one is displayed at a time.
To Clear an E3, E5 or E8 (2 possible ways):
1. Press reset.
2. Initiate a test (syringe) cycle, but do not
button sequence of the test cycle will clear the error (see page 9).
E1/E2 Communication error, press reset to clear.

E3 No current indicator. The zone displayed with the E3 error code is

programmed to run, but does not have a current draw (not a complete
electrical path).
DAILY
E5 Low Battery - to clear error, replace battery and press reset, or run
syringe/test cycle. (see page 9).
E6 Sensor Suspended Watering - this error code is displayed in the
Off or On mode. The error is ignored in the SENSOR OVERRIDE
mode. The E6 error simply means that the installed sensor has
suspended watering. When the sensor has dried out, irrigation will
begin immediately.
E7 No AC - indicates that there is no AC power. You must have a
good battery installed for this error to be displayed.
E8 Over current indicator. The zone displayed with the E8 error has
exceeded the current draw capacity of the controller.
E8/37 Pump or master valve error. The pump and/or master valve
has exceeded 1 amp.
