SETTING TO WORK
Before using the unit for the first time, install batteries or rechargeable
batteries. Charge rechargeable batteries. See regarding section.
Position the unit horizontally or vertically (tripod attachment and rubberfeet
to the bottom!) on a stable platform or tripod at the desired elevation. The
unit recognizes automatically whether it is used horizontally or vertically
when switched on. If the position is changed, the unit has to be switched
off. Change the position and switch on again. A warning tone will sound for
changes of position while operating.
Make sure, that the prism 10 is placed correctly on the rotor 11.
Press the power button 1 to turn on the unit and power indicator 6 . Self-
leveling will start at once. In order to switch the unit off, press the power
button again. The unit is leveled when the laser and leveling indicators 7, 8
are no longer blinking. The rotor will not spin until the unit is leveled. The
power indicator remains on.
If the unit is positioned beyond it´s self-leveling range of ±8%, the laser
and leveling indicators will recurringly flash quickly four times. Turn the unit
off, reposition the laser within the self-leveling range and turn it on again.
Point mode
After turning on the unit and after self-leveling, the unit is set in Point mode.
When using the point mode, the laser visibility will be at its highest
because the entire laser energy is focused on one point. Turn the prism by
hand or press the arrow keys 4 and 5 on the keypad to the desired position.
During horizontal operation, the prism 10 is moved gradually leftwards
or rightwards or (360°).
During vertical operation, the laser point may be positioned precisely or
may be ajusted parallel right- or leftwards. This is only possible in a selected
sector of ± 8% of right- or leftwards.
By pressing and holding the keys, the movement of the point may be
fastened.
Rotation mode
By pressing the speed/rotation button 3 the unit is set in Rotation mode.
The unit starts at it´s highest rotation speed. To increase the visibility of the
laser beam, rotation speed can be changed. Press the button 3 again, and
rotation speed will decrease stepwise (4 steps) until the rotor stops.
