switched off and the battery cartridge is removed
before carrying out any work on the tool.
Loading the tie wire (wire reel)
CAUTION:
Before mounting or dismounting
tie wires and accessories, be sure to turn the
power off, lock the trigger, and remove the battery
cartridge. F ailure to d o so ma y c ause an a c c i d ent.
NOTICE:
Using wires other than Makita ' s genu-
ine tie wires (annealed wires) may cause the tool
to malfunction.

NOTICE:
If the length of the pulled-out wire is
insufficient, the wire may be broken off when tied,
or tying strength may be compromised due to
insufficient wraps.

NOTICE:
W hen the lock lever is released and
when the left and right gears mesh with each
other, the grooves in the gears form a space. This
space becomes the path for the wire. Make sure
that the wire is passed through this path.

Checking before work
CAUTION:
If the tool has a safety mecha-
nism-related problem, do not use it. I f y ou c ontinue

Checking the trigger-lock
T h e tool h as t h e trigger-lo c k to pre v ent t h e tool f rom
operating w h en y ou d o not inten d to use it. L o c k t h e trig-
ger and confirm that the switch trigger cannot be pulled.
Checking the curl guide
T o pre v ent t h e operator f rom tou c h ing t h e bin d ing or
rotating parts o f t h e tool tip b y mistake, t h e tool w ill not
operate e v en i f t h e s w it c h trigger is pulle d w h ile t h e
c url gui d e is opene d . W h en t h e operator releases t h eir
finger from the switch trigger and closes the curl guide,
t h e tool c an operate.

CAUTION:
If you open the curl guide and turn
the power on to check the interlock, hold the curl
guide as shown in the figure. Never bring your
limbs or face close to the binding or rotating parts
of the tool tip. Otherwise, you may be injured.
