allows for changing the timing of the B3, B5 and B7 steps
that are in sequence during a regeneration cycle (see table 3).
In the beginning, selecting "NO" is advisable so as to make
the softener work according to standard timing. At a later
stage, such datum can be changed only if needed. By se-

(MONITORING SALT PRESENCE)
The water softener is provided with a system that disinfects
the resins during regeneration.
This device is inserted in the valve (fig. 10, A). It has two
electrodes which, when coming in contact with salt water,
generate a hypochlorite through electrolysis. The hypochlorite
will come in contact with the resins and disinfect them.
If the electrodes do not find salt water, the electrolysis process
will not take place and the equipment will warn the user throu-
gh a visual and acoustic signal that it is necessary to refill the
salt container.
The salt monitoring is performed during step B5 of the rege-
neration.
To activate the monitoring, when the writing "SALT CHECK"
appears on the display by pressing the
"YES" or "NO".
If you select "NO", salt check will not be performed and no
alarm will be activated (the disinfection process will be per-
formed anyway).
You are now finished with setting and the display will show the
Service mode screen (chapter 5.7).
By selecting "YES", "AUDIBLE ALARM" will be viewed on the
display.
By selecting "YES", salt shortage will also be signaled by an
intermittent buzzer. By selecting "NO", salt shortage will only
be viewed on the display.
By using the

key, you can select your choice. Press
to confirm.
End of settings.

line shows current day and time; the bottom line shows the
softener model and how many days are to elapse before next
regeneration. -07REG = 7 is regeneration frequency; in thix
case, F10 means that the softener is set so as to carry out a
regeneration cycle every 10 days.
CAUTION: if F00 appears on the display, the softener will
never carry out automatic regeneration; regeneration will only
take place in semi-automatic mode (paragraph 7.1).
5.7.1 READING INSTRUCTIONS ON THE DISPLAY
Irrespective of the actual softener setting, some other fun-
ctions will appear on the display. After the name of the day,
one, two or no star symbol can be viewed.
12:12 SUNDAY
+05+
When no star symbol is visible on the display, salt control is
on. Thanks to this setting, in case of salt shortage, a visual
message will be displayed (red led lights on and the "ADD
SALT" message) just as an audible alarm will be on.
- One single star symbol means that salt control is on, but
it will only be visually signaled by red led lights on and the
"ADD SALT" wording on the display.
- Two star symbols mean that salt control is off and that,
once salt is over, no signal will be visible.
When *R* and (R) are displayed, the softener will carry out the
regeneration cycle on the preset day and time.
When "+08+" is displayed before and after the model type,
the regeneration times with extra-rinse have been changed
(see paragraph 5.5).
