The resins are not biodegradable. They are classified as
non-hazardous waste, and must be disposed of accordingly
(code CER 190905).
13) ALARMS ON THE DISPLAY
• ERROR 1
The valve can't find the correct position.
When this signals appears, check whether the camshaft rota-
tes or if it is stationary.
1. If the cam shaft rotates:
- Check whether the magnetic reader is in the correct posi-
tion or if it is broken (fig. 7, G);
- Check whether the cable or the connector connecting the
timer to the magnetic reader are connected correctly or if
they are damaged (fig. 7, H, I);
- Make sure the camshaft is assembled correctly and is not
inclined;
- Check whether the magnets are all inserted in the cam
shaft (fig. 7, E);
2. If the cam shaft does not rotate:
- Check if the cable connecting the motor and the timer is
disconnected or assembled incorrectly (fig. 7, A, B, D).
- Make sure the motor is not out of order or hindered in its
movements (fig. 7, D).
• ERROR 2
This signal indicates that the timer couldn't read all the data
in the program.
To refresh the data, disconnect the power connector from the
timer (fig. 9, A) and re-connect it.
If the error message is resolved, set again the timer by en-
tering the needed parameters (see chapter 5, "SETTING THE
TIMER").
If the error persists, disconnect the power connector from
the timer (fig. 9, A) and reset the day and time following the
instructions in paragraph 4.2.

Make sure that the equipment is connected to power supply and that the
electric card connector is inserted (vedi paragrafo 7.1)
Clean the electrodes (see paragraph 9.1 steps 7 and 8). Check that the
water level in the brine tank is above the salt grid (Image 1, F). If water level
is not too low, increase the B7 value in the EXTRA-RINSE (see paragraph
5.5)
Clean the ejector and its filter (see paragraph 9.1 steps 4 and 5). Check that
the drain pipe is not sqeezed or clogged. Check that the softener can suck
water from the brine tank.
and that the electric card connector is inserted (fig. 7, C). Check that "F00"
is not displayed (see paragraphs 5.2.2)
check the current time and regeneration time settings (see paragraph 4.2
and 5.3)
• REPLACE BATTERY
This alarm indicates that the battery must be replaced. After
the replacement, it is necessary to set the time again (see
paragraph 4.2).
To remove the battery (fig. 7, L), disconnect the power supply
to the softener, remove the back part of the cover, then pull
up the front part of the valve.
Replace the battery (CR1220 3V), put back in place the front
and the back cover. Reconnect the power supply.
Once the battery is replaced, set again time and date (see
paragraph 4.2).
14) PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
Some solutions to fix the problems that might arise are propo-
sed in the following tables.
The most common cause of problems is wrong installation of
the drain pipe as well as the overflow pipe.
We strongly suggest to take particular care when positioning
them during installation.
A clogged drain pipe or a too small drain basin might prevent
salt water sucking from the brine tank, thus causing over-
flowing of water.
Moreover, we suggest to not connect the drain pipe and the
overflow pipe to the same drain basin as, in case of clog-
ging, water might flow back in the overflow pipe causing over-
flowing from the brine tank.
It is advisable to have the salt alarm switched to on when
the softener is in service. This will help to prevent pro-
blems also ensuring proper operations.
15) CONNECTION TO EXTERNAL EQUIPMENT
The ALIA valve can send signals to external equipment via the
connections showed in Fig.7, O, P.
Technical connection data are the following:
- connector "O" is based on the MOD BUS RTU protocol (RS
232 external serial connector) (Fig. 7, O).
- connector "P" is used to communicate whether salt is pre-
sent in the tank via ON/OFF signals (Fig. 7, P).
