DMSP−... / MAS−...

Method of operation and application
When compressed air is applied, the contractible
membrane 3 of the Fluidic Muscle type DMSP−... /
MAS−...expands in circumference. A tensile force
thereby arises, as well as a contracting move
ment in the longitudinal direction. The DMSP−... /
MAS−... is single−acting. Movement is trans
ferred to the work load with the aid of connect
ing elements which are screwed into thread 1
as per Accessories" (with DMSP−... the adapter
is already fitted). There is no integrated force
limitation in the connecting flange 2 of the
MAS−...−K. If the load exceeds a certain level, a
safety valve blows the excess compressed air
down.
The Fluidic Muscle type DMSP−... / MAS−... is
designed for:
lifting and lowering masses
transmitting forces (e.g. clamping two
plates)
use as pneumatic spring.
The DMSP−... / MAS−... is simply a pulling actuator which cannot transmit pressure
forces and does not have a guide. The pulling force is at its maximum at the begin
ning of the contraction and drops almost linearly with the stroke to zero. Expansion
in the peripheral direction cannot be used for clamping tasks, as friction can dam
age the muscle.

Transport and storage
Please note
Unsuitable storage conditions can affect functionality.
S Make sure that the following points are observed during operation:
Do not store the Fluidic Muscle in a buckled state.
Protect from ultra−violet rays (leave in protective sleeve until required).
The DMSP−... / MAS−... is stored at low humidity (under 60 %).
Avoid high temperatures (less than + 30 °C).
