Fitting
Using incompressible media (neutral water)
Avoid excessive pressure shocks which may occur when the valve is switched.
S
Otherwise the diaphragm valve or a connected measuring device may be
damaged.
Compare the pressure shock which occurs with the maximum permitted
S
bursting pressure of the subsequent valves and fittings.

Make sure that the tubing system in which you wish to install the diaphragm
S
valve is pressureless or that no liquid medium flows through it.
When fitting the VZWM diaphragm valve check the direction of flow in the
S
device. The permitted direction of flow is marked by an arrow on the valve
housing.
Note the sequence of fitting steps with regard to the tubing already fitted.
S
Use a support bracket (è Accessories") for fastening the VZWM diaphragm
S
valve. The mechanical stability of the tubing system will then be increased.
Make sure that there is sufficient space for connecting the VZWM diaphragm
S
valve.
Make sure that there is sufficient space for the screw connectors.
S
Note that the output of the diaphragm valve must be connected for operation.
S
Before ftting wash out the tubing at intervals.
S
Avoid dirt. In this way you will prevent small holes from becoming blocked
S
(e.g. pilot or exhaust hole) and restriction or blockage of the function (open/close).

Remedy
S Fit the valve.
S Optimize the application parameters
in order to avoid pressure shocks.
S Use one of the nomograms in
chapter 13 for defining the pressure
shock (è Fig. 10).
