Ten cyclical warning signals can be heard. Turn the device off and back on after
approx. 10 seconds. If the error message is displayed again, the device may not
be used any longer. Make sure the device can no longer be operated until a qual-
ified service technician conducts the appropriate tests and repairs.
If the tube detection is defective, the display shows the following alternating
messages:
Device error <-> Tube detection error
Roller wheel stops and 6 warning signals are emitted cyclically.
Turn the device off and back on after approx. 10 seconds have expired.
If the error message is displayed again, the device may not be used any longer.
Make sure the device can no longer be operated until a qualified service techni-
cian conducts the appropriate tests and repairs.

Safety and Warning Messages
During device operation, the function display depicts safety and warning mes-
sages. These messages refer to the handling and safety of the pump during use.
WARNING!
As long as the tube cassette is not properly snapped into place, the function dis-
play depicts "Insert tube set."
The pump does not start and 3 warning signals are emitted when the Start/Stop
key is pressed. Snap tube cassette properly into place and restart the device.
6.3
Exceeding Nominal Pressure
In case of arthroscopies, it is possible that temporary overpressures occur (up to
more than 300 mm Hg in extreme cases). The pump is therefore equipped with
safety control mechanisms.
The pump reduces any possible overpressure within the joint.
If the actual pressure exceeds the nominal pressure by 30 mm Hg, the device ac-
tivates after 5 seconds the roller wheel in reverse motion to reduce the overpres-
sure.
If the pressure is not reduced to below the nominal pressure plus 30 mm Hg
within 5 seconds, a warning sound is emitted.
If the intra-articulate pressure exceeds 250 mm Hg for more than 5 seconds, the
motor is switched off to interrupt the irrigation process. The warning Critical
Overpressure is depicted on the function display.
CAUTION!
The message "Critical Overpressure" overwrites all other possible messages.
Overpressure warnings serve as information for the attending physician to re-
spond appropriately to the existing excess pressure. The intra-articular joint
pressure can be reduced by opening the outflow cannula. If possible, the attend-
ing physician should perform this task.
When the pressure drops below 250 mm Hg, the warning Critical Overpressure
disappears and the pump resumes its normal functionality.
