Function Test

Functional test
The functional test must be performed prior to each surgery.

Sterilize reusable instruments and tubing before surgery to prevent infections.
Check all the single-use/disposable items before removing them from the pack-
age to ensure that the packaging is intact and that the expiration date is still val-
id.

For your own safety and that of your patient, use only original accessories.
WARNING!
Device defect
Do not use this device if a defect is suspected or detected during the function
check. This also applies to obvious defects, especially defects and damage of the
power plug and power cable.
9.1
Preparing the Function Test
Check to make sure the fluid bags meet the listed specifications (see chapter 5.5
"Connecting the Fluid Bags") and are suspended properly.
9.2
Starting the Device
1. Use the Stand-by/ON key to turn the device on.
2. Check the charge status of the battery with the display indicator.
3. Inserting cassette tube set into irrigation pump
When prompted by the function display, insert the cassette tube set see
chapter 5.4 "Inserting the Cassette Tube Set"). Insert the tube cassette into
the cassette slot of the device until you can hear it snap into place.
4. Connect the tap spike (optional safe lock connection) with the fluid bag.
Check to make sure all tube connections are free of mechanical stresses and
are routed without snagging.
5. Connect an instrument.
6. Press the respective function field on the touch panel to select the corre-
sponding type of joint.
7. Press the START/STOP key on the device after the display depicts Start pump
8. The rotation symbol is depicted on the function display. Wait until tube sys-
tem and instrument are completely filled with fluid. The tube filling phase
takes about 10 seconds.
9. Stop the pump by pressing the START/STOP key again. The function display
switches to Start pump.
