Programming mode
The purpose of programming mode is to clear any existing blink codes, to perform test runs or
program the hold-open time.
6.1
Putting the controller in programming mode
To put the controller B-54900-01-3-9 in programming mode, open the two door leaves and secure
them to prevent them from closing accidentally.
Cancel any permanent release that has been set and make sure that no control signals are enabled at
inputs I1 and I2 during programming. You can do this by removing the 5-pin terminal clamp on the
left.
Now insert the 6-pin service plug into the controller B-54900-01-3-9 (see Fig. 23.1).
Then actuate the latch switching contact for at least 5 s (see Fig. 23.2).
The red LED at the controller B-54900-01-3-9 lights up continuously, programming mode is now
active (see Fig. 23.3).

Exit programming mode
To exit the programming mode, press the latch switching contact again or pull out the service plug.
To save the changes made in the controller and exit programming mode, operate the latch switching
contact for at least 5 s (see Fig. 23.4). The red LED at the controller B-54900-01-3-9 goes out.
Then remove the 6-pin service plug (see Fig. 23.5) to exit the programming mode.
If you do not actuate the latch switching contact and instead only remove the service plug,
the controller B-54900-01-3-9 will revert to the factory settings and all changes will be discarded.
This action will result in any changes already made to the hold-open time being deleted and the
hold-open time being reset to 7 s.
