Biomechanics
The pronation describes the natural cushioning of the foot for ab-
sorbing the impact. The pronation of the foot can be different de-
pending on the type of runner. One distinguishes between
normal pronation, overpronation and supination.
For a runner with a normal pronation a running shoe should al-
ways support the natural pronation movement, however without
limiting it due to stability technologies. Mainly the overpronation
or the supination are a big problem for runners and can lead to
diverse injuries. However, suitable running shoes can balance in-
dividual malpositions or problems.
