Figure 6 – Drilling Operation
Once the hole saw is in contact with the
pipe, continue to apply firm pressure. De-
pending on the size and wall thickness of
the pipe, the drill may need to be re-
tracted slightly at times for chip removal
and drill bit cooling. See Figure 6.
As the hole saw moves through the pipe,
there will be interrupted cut at times. De-
crease pressure as this occurs to help
prevent jamming of the hole saw.
7. Once the hole is complete, turn OFF the
drill and retract from the pipe and drill
guide.
8. If the pipe coupon needs to be removed
from the hole saw, always make sure
that the drill is unplugged/battery dis-
connected before removing. Remove
the coupon with care, as it may be hot
and edges can be sharp.
9. Remove vacuum hose from drill guide
and use vacuum to remove any residual
chips from the guide tube and pipe. See
Figure 7 .

not alter the hole size – this can affect the
integrity of the pressed connection. Be
careful of sharp edges.
1. Make sure that the MegaPress Press-In
Branch connector fitting is appropriate for
the application. The fitting must match the
size and type of pipe to work properly. In-
spect the fitting per the manufacturer's in-
structions to be sure all parts are present,
in place and free of dirt and debris. If fit-
ting parts are missing or dirty, this can
cause improper connections, leaks and
other property damage.
2. Unscrew the draw bolt from the ex-
pander.
3. Place the threaded end of the fitting on
the end of the expander. See Figure 8.
