4. Insert the draw bolt through the fitting
and into the expander. Firmly hand
tighten the draw bolt (Figure 9). Make
sure that the fitting is seated on the at-
tachment and the draw bolt is secure.
Improper mounting of the fitting to the
expander can cause damage or make
an incomplete connection.

5. Hold the appropriate fitting positioning
guide for the pipe size around/over the
pipe/hole. Be aware of nearby obstruc-
tions that may interfere with the guide
movement or removal.
6. Fully insert the fitting through the fitting
guide into the hole in the pipe. The curve
of the fitting should match the curve of the
pipe and sit on the pipe with no gaps.
The expander should be perpendicular to
the pipe. (See Figure 10).
Do not force the fitting into the hole. If the
fitting does not fit easily into the prepared
hole, check the hole size for dimensional
accuracy and roundness. Never use any
lubricant unless specifically recommend-
ed by the fitting manufacturer. Lubricants
can degrade the seal and cause leaks.

7. Rotate the fitting positioning guide into
place to hold the fitting to the pipe (see
Figure 11). Confirm that the guide, fitting
and expander are secure and will not fall
off of the pipe (Figure 12).

Attaching the Press Tool To
the Expander
1. Confirm that the press tool is unplugged
or the battery is removed. Fully open the
attachment-mounting pin and remove
any attachment.
2. Slide the press tool over the expander (1)
and fully close the attachment-mounting
pin (2). (See Figure 13). The tool will not
operate unless the mounting pin is fully
closed. Keep your hands on the press
tool to align and support it. Do not hang
the press tool from the pipe.
