OPERATION PHASES
A
During the early operation moments, the suction pressure does not exceed the - 0.4 bar and this
PRIMING
condition continues for a time that varies depending on the viscosity, the temperature and probe
used. This situation in nominal conditions mustn't persist for more than 120 seconds. If this condition
persists longer, the possible causes can be:
1. the probe is not immersed in the oil or
2. air is being sucked in because the probe is not functioning properly or because the fittings are
not sealed properly
B
After priming, the suction pressure reaches higher values than - 0.4 bar (where otherwise indicated
TRANSFER
above - 35 cm Hg). In nominal operating conditions, the suction pressure value is approx. 0.9 bar.
Lower values indicate that:
1. the probe is not immersed in the oil or
2. air is being sucked in because the probe is not functioning properly or because the fittings are
not sealed properly
C
During the final transfer phases when the fluid amount is running out, the suction pressure drops
DRAINAGE
below -0.4 bar (if otherwise specified between 0 and -35 cm Hg).
Considering that there isn't an automatic switching off device to turn off the system, use the button
on the pump terminal box.

NOISE LEVEL

Under normal operating conditions noise emission for all models does not exceed the value of 70 dB "A" at a distance of
1 Meter from the electric pump.
This manual is the property of PIUSI S.p.A. Any reproduction, even partial, is forbidden.
Supply voltage to the system by connecting the plug to the mains
After having removed the level check from the motor, check the length. To get an accurate indi-
cation of how far the probe needs to penetrate, place the level check side by side with probe
itself. Adding too much or too little oil prevents proper operation.
The temperature of the motor oil must not be less than 60°C for a probe with an internal
diameter of 3mm, and 20°C for a probe with an internal diameter of 6 mm. It normally takes
10-15 minutes of motor operation at minimum revolutions for the oil to reach the required
temperature. The heating operation is necessary for systems with a small probe.
Where possible, try to use a probe with a larger diameter for rapid drainage.
Insert the probe and make sure that it reaches maximum depth
Once the probe has been positioned correctly, press the button on the terminal box to
start the unit.
Should it not be possible to insert normal probes due to the diameter of the hole being too
small, use the special probe provided.
After suction, it is recommended to move the probe on the bottom of the motor sump, turn
off the pump unit with the switch on the terminal box.
An electric power failure, with the consequent accidental stopping of the unit, can be
caused by:
- safety device tripping (if present at the system inlet)
- drop in line voltage
- fuse burnt out
When the electric power is restored, the pump will start again from the stand-by condi-
tion.
