Pre-Start Up Procedures
Before operating your EcoSalt REDOX please ensure the following items have been added to your pool:
¥
SALT - Load salt into the pool at the rate of 45-60kg per 10,000 litres to achieve a recommended salt
level of 4500 - 6000ppm.
Connect manual vacuum system and slowly vacuum until salt dispersal is complete. Place vacuum head into
deepest end of pool and allow vacuum to continue for a further 2 or 3 hours. Salt should now be completely
mixed. Never add salt directly into skimmer box.
¥
CHLORINE - For a new pool installation that has not been chlorinated, add sufficient Chlorine (liquid or
granular) to achieve a reading of 3 ppm (with a suitable test kit), or run the chlorinator system continuously
for at least 24 hours or until a reading of 3 ppm is reached.
¥
STABILISER - It is essential that pool stabiliser be added to outdoor pools and maintained at the rate of
15 - 20 ppm at all times. Do not exceed 100 ppm.
(Refer Day to Day Operation page 13 for further information).
Setting and Operating Your
CONTROL PANEL LAYOUT
1. To set your EcoSalt REDOX first ensure the pH (7.2-7.6) and Total Alkalinity (80-150ppm) are balanced,
then add chlorine whilst the unit is running to reach your desired level of chlorine (1.5-3.0ppm). Verify this
with a reliable test kit or seek the advice of your pool professional.
2. Once the desired level of chlorine is reached turn the ORP CONTROL dial slowly clockwise or anti-clockwise
as required until the green 'Within Range( LED indicator is displayed and the 'Cell Power( LED turns off. As
an alternative to the above procedure you can set the ORP CONTROL to the halfway or 12 o(clock position
(this is approximately 650mV) and run the spa until the ORP within range LED is on and Cell Power is off.
Check sanitiser levels and adjust ORP CONTROL to suit.
3. If a higher or lower chlorine residual is required you can adjust the ORP CONTROL up or down (this should
be done in small increments).
4. Your EcoSalt REDOX must have water flow to operate. It is recommended that your Pool filtration system
run for a minimum of 4 to 8 hours per day to enable the EcoSalt REDOX to maintain the required sanitiser
level. In hot weather and with a larger number of people using the pool, the required filtration time may be
longer.
