• To set melting or maintenance mode press the MELT button
and keep it pressed for at least 2 seconds. The yellow indi-
cator light switches on. In melting mode the appliance heats
intermittently in a manner that is suitable for melting solid fat.
Maintenance mode serves to keep the oil at a temperature
of 100 °C.
• To start melting or maintenance mode press the START but-
ton and keep it pressed for at least two seconds. The green
and yellow indicator lamps will flash.When the maintenance
temperature is reached an audible signal will sound for five
seconds. The green and yellow indicator lamps remain stea-
dily illuminated.
• To suspend melting or maintenance mode press the MELT
button and keep it pressed for at least two seconds. The yel-
low indicator light switches off.
Press SET to set the cooking temperature The cooking tempe-
rature appears on the display.Within four seconds press
increase the temperature or
required cooking temperatu-
moments. The temperature of the oil in the well will be display-
ed again.
• To start heating press the START button and keep it pressed
for at least two seconds. The green indicator light will flash.
When the preset cooking temperature is reached an audible
signal will sound for five seconds. The green indicator light
remains steadily illuminated.
• To suspend heating press the STOP button and keep it
pressed for at least two seconds. The green indicator light
switches off.
• To switch off the fryer turn the main switch to position 0.
Switching off
• Turn the thermostat knob to position "0".
• The display switches off.

The main switch has the following positions:

Switching on the fryer
• Switch the appliance on (or off) by turning the main switch
45°.The whole display lights up for a few seconds, then
shows the temperature measured in the well. Temperature
adjustment is not active.
Switching off
• Turn the thermostat knob to position "0".
• The display switches off.
13 OPERATION OF ELECTRONIC THERMOSTAT(WITH
ENCODER)
The electronic thermostat control buttons are as in the figure:

The temperature may be adjusted in three operating modes:
• (A) Preheating: for melting solid fats. Heating takes place
cyclically at predetermined times so as to avoid sudden in-
creases in temperature. This phase ends automatically the
to decrease it. Once the
re has been set, wait for a few
first time the predetermined temperature (100°C) is reached
in the well.
• (B) Holding: the temperature is adjusted and kept at the pre-
determined value (100°C).
• (C) Main adjustment: the temperature is adjusted and kept at
the set point established by the user. The first time this value
is reached may be indicated by the buzzer.
Setting the set point
• Press and release the knob 2. The display shows the value of
the current set point.
• Turn the knob 2 to the desired value.
• Confirm the value by pressing the knob 2 again and then re-
leasing it (or do not act for 15 seconds). The display again
shows the temperature in the well.
Pressing the buttons
• The thermostat acts differently depending on whether the
buttons 3-4-5-6 are pressed and immediately released, or
to
held down for at least 1 second.
Activating the heating
• Press button 3 (for 1 sec.). The appliance is set so that it
starts in mode C, that is performing the adjustment according
to the established set point.
Activating preheating (melting)
• Press button 4 (for 1 sec.), bearing in mind that:
• if the temperature in the well is lower than the set value
(100°C), preheating (mode A) starts until the appliance pas-
ses to holding (mode B).
• if the temperature in the well is higher than the set value
(100°C), the appliance immediately passes to holding (mode
B).
To return to mode C
• Press button 4 (for 1 sec.).
To stop heating
• Press button 3 (for 1 sec.).
Timer characteristics
NB:The timer provides a simple countdown. It has no influence
on the adjustment and operation of the thermostat.
The timer value may be set between 0 and 99 minutes. Set-
ting the value at 0 means excluding the timer. The time is ex-
pressed in minutes. A few seconds before the timer returns to
zero the buzzer starts to sound and the display automatically
shows the remaining time in seconds. Shortly after the end of
the countdown the buzzer stops and the display again shows
the temperature in the well.
Setting the timer
• 1. Ensure that the timer is not active (message "min" off)
• 2. Press and immediately release button 6. The correct set-
ting appears blinking on the display. The message "min" blin-
ks too.
• 3. Turn the knob 2 to the desired value.
• 4. Confirm the value by pressing knob 2 again (or do not act
for 15 sec.). The display again shows the temperature in the
well.
Starting the countdown
• Press button 6 (for 1 sec.). The message"min" blinks and the
display continues showing the temperature in the well.
