Security Information

This tester complies with IEC1010 standards: in pollution grade 2, overvoltage
category (CAT. II 1000V, CAT. III 600V) and double isolation.
CAT. II Local Level, in portable equipment applications, with small transient
voltages.
CAT. III Distribution Level, in applications of fi xed installations with small transient
voltages.
Use this tester only as specifi ed in this user's manual, otherwise the protection
given by the tester could be deteriorated.
In this manual a Warning means conditions and actions that could cause risk to
the user or that could damage the tester or the equipment that is being tested.
A Note means that the user must pay attention.
Warning
To avoid electric shock risk or damage to yourself and to the tester or the
equipment that is being tested, please follow these safety rules:
- Before use the tester, check the cover. If it has been removed or damaged do
not use the tester. Check for plastic loss especially around the test probes.
- Check the test probes for isolation damage or metallic parts exposition. Check
the test probes' continuity. Replace the test probes with an identical model with
the same electric characteristics before use the tester.
- Do not apply more than the voltage rate shown by the tester, between terminals
or between any terminal and ground.
- The rotary switch must be placed aligned and no overcharge range must be
displayed during the measurement. This avoid damage to the tester.
